 N: This 2-day course provides an overview of the nine major content areas 
 of the OCN Test Blueprint and successful strategies for preparing and taki
 ng the OCN examination. The course is designed for nurses who are preparin
 g to take the OCN examination\, who need to earn continuing education cred
 its toward recertification\, or who would like a comprehensive review of b
 asic oncology nursing.\n\nOBJECTIVES: Upon completion of the program\, par
 ticipants will be able to:\n\n 	Describe the major elements of the OCN tes
 t blueprint and test-taking strategies\n 	Describe the impact of the scien
 tific basis and standards of oncology nursing practice to the care of pati
 ents with selected site-specific cancers.\n 	Apply the nursing process to 
 the care of patients with cancer and their significant others across the c
 ancer care continuum.\n 	Identify key elements of nursing care and safety 
 for the patient receiving selected major treatment modalities for cancer.\
 n 	Apply the nursing process to the care of patients experiencing symptoms
  associated with cancer and cancer treatment.\n 	Discuss nursing care of p
 atients identified as high-risk for selected oncologic emergencies.\n 	Sel
 ect evidence-based nursing assessments and interventions for patients expe
 riencing distressing psychosocial responses to cancer and cancer treatment
